The best and worst opening pairs in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 (Part 1)

As the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 gets closer, we continue to build the top league in this sport. Now, these are the best and worst opening pairs possible in the tournament.

10. Afghanistan

Afghanistan may feel optimistic about entering the World Cup, but their opening partnership could come under the scanner. Booming goalkeeper batsman Mohammed Shahzad will be a dependent, but who is with him?

Afghans may need to consider a few options at that location to stabilize their ship, but Hazratullah Zazai seems to be the possible choice. Not much quality is going on there.

9. Bangladesh

Similar to Afghanistan, Bangladesh faces a tough question in the opening department. Veteran warrior Tamim Iqbal is back in the squad, and will definitely open, but who’s next to him?

Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar are definite options but the balance of the team will need to be considered during a call.

8. Sri Lanka

Gone are the days when Sanath Jayasuriya and even Tillakaratne Dilshan could depend on the perfect start to the Sri Lankan matches.

Now, Lankan Lions will have to depend on Dimuth Karunaratne and perhaps Lahiru Thirimanne to give them a good run. Donith sees that happening too often.

7. Pakistan

The opening duo of Fakhar Zaman and Imam Ul-Haq can be lethal in their best condition, but unfortunately the inconsistency is what makes the best Pakistani players.

This may be the combination set in the foreground, but can be changed if Pakistan can get the necessary running steps in some early games.

6. West Indies

Chris Gayle is back in the Windies squad, and we all know how dangerous he can be. But can anyone cooperate with the space boss?

Evin Lewis seems to be the most chosen one at the moment, and while we can expect the duo to fire in a few games, their approach to bowling and spin bowling The quality will be an interesting watch.

5. New Zealand

Not entirely sure what to think about Colin Munro-Martin Guptill being able to pair up ahead, but New Zealand will hope that the two can be at their best when the World Cup begins.

Guptill can be sensational when he walks, as we saw at the last World Cup, and Munro is equally deadly. If they can be consistent, it will create the perfect foundation for Williamson and colleagues.
